She came out in the afternoon sun
wearing yoga pants and a fleece jacket.
With sidewalk chalk in hand,
she added the last box.
I asked if I could take a picture
of this gift she said she made
for all the children who walked
by her home.
She just wanted to help.
a small act of kindness says so much
I love this. And, what a nice gift and tribute. Welcome to the late-night slicers!
So creative, great neighborly gift! I’m glad you memorialized it with your poem.
I love this idea! I might have to dig out the old chalk and make one for our neighborhood!
And help, she did.
What a sweet story of kindness and caring for neighbors.
